Win the Day Magazine Legal
Accessibility
Last updated: October 30, 2026
Win the Day Magazine wants every reader to be able to use this website and our iOS and Android apps. We design and build our pages with accessibility in mind and we keep improving them as we find problems. This page explains what we have done, what we know still needs work, and how to tell us when something is not usable for you.
Our Commitment
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA for this website and our apps. We use those guidelines as our target while building and reviewing pages. We have not completed a formal third-party accessibility audit, so we cannot claim full conformance. When we learn about a barrier, we prioritise fixing it.
Accessibility Features
- Keyboard navigation: links, buttons, menus and forms can be reached and used without a mouse, with a visible focus indicator.
- Screen reader support: pages use real headings, lists, landmarks and labelled form fields, and images carry descriptive alternative text where they convey information.
- Readable structure: a clear heading order, readable body text and a consistent layout across stories, podcasts, events, listings, the magazine and the shop.
- Text alternatives: podcast episodes and videos are accompanied by written descriptions, and articles are published as text that can be read, copied, zoomed and translated.
- Resizable text: pages can be zoomed and reflowed in the browser and use the text size settings of your device and browser.
- Reduced motion: animated elements such as the headlines ticker and page transitions respect your device's reduced-motion setting.
- Colour and contrast: body text is set in colours chosen for contrast against their background, and information is never conveyed by colour alone.
- Clear forms: every field has a visible label, and errors are written in plain language and announced to assistive technology.
- Mobile apps: the apps follow the same design and share the same accessibility behaviour as the website.
Content On This Site
- Stories and blog posts: published as structured text with headings and lists rather than images of text.
- Podcasts: each episode page includes a written description, and episodes play with standard audio or video controls, including captions where the platform provides them.
- Magazine editions: digital editions are readable in a built-in reader that can be zoomed and scrolled on smaller screens.
- Events: event pages list date, time, cost, location and accessibility information supplied by the organiser. Where an organiser has not given us that information, please ask us and we will follow up.
- Business listings and the directory: listings can be browsed as a list as well as on the map, so no information is available only through a visual map.
- Shop: product pages include written descriptions and the checkout accepts standard browser keyboard and screen reader use.
Known Limitations
These are areas we know are not perfect today and are working on:
- Some images and photos supplied by businesses, advertisers or event organisers arrive without useful alternative text. We add descriptions where we can and ask contributors to supply them.
- PDFs and digital magazine files are supplied by their publishers and may not be fully tagged for screen readers. We can provide an alternative format on request.
- Third-party content we embed, such as YouTube videos, ads and map tiles, is controlled by those providers and may not meet the same standard.
- Older stories and listings published before our current review may still contain formatting that is harder to navigate.
- Some interactive widgets, such as the spin-the-wheel promotion, rely on animation and may be harder to use with a screen reader; the same offers are described in text on the page.
Tell Us About a Barrier
If any part of this website or our apps is difficult or impossible for you to use, please tell us. Include the page or feature, what you were trying to do, and the device, browser or assistive technology you were using, if you can. We read every message and will respond as quickly as we can.
Email hello@wtday.app with the subject line “Accessibility”.
Alternative formats
If you need a story, magazine edition, event details, listing information or an order confirmation in another format, such as plain text, larger print or an accessible document, ask us at the same address and we will provide it wherever we can.
How to Get the Best Experience
- Use your browser's zoom or your device's text size setting to enlarge content.
- Turn on reduced motion in your device or browser settings to limit animation.
- Use the site with a screen reader on your phone or computer; our pages are built with standard landmarks and headings.
- If a page does not work as expected, try the same page in another browser — and let us know what happened.
